While my project did not go at all how I originally had planned for it to, I have learned so much in this process. I had no understanding of what IRB was responsible for and how they functioned until I completed this project. I am also grateful that I now have a better understanding for future reference with regards to studies involving human subjects. I also underestimated how much work goes into even just one oral history interview. Because I was so focused on details, I created a project that I can be proud of and not just a thrown together transcription. My appreciation for SUU grew as I learned about the sacrifices that individuals and families have made here in Cedar City for more than a century now to make it what it is. This was a worthwhile endeavor, despite the frustrating and trying times that I faced in getting to this point finally.
